About Our District

Santa Cruz Irrigation District No. 15 has changed its name to Santa Cruz Water Control and Improvement District No. 15 as of July 10, 2024 under the authority of Chapter 51 : Section 59 : Article XVI of the Constitution of the State of Texas.

The Santa Cruz Water Control and Improvement District No. 15 is responsible for providing area farmers with irrigation water; north of Monte Cristo Road in North Edinburg within the District land situated east and west of Highway 281.

The District does not pump water directed from the Rio Grande River, but instead relies on water deliveries from Hidalgo County Irrigation District One (HCID#1) at a diversion point by Ware Rd. and Monte Cristo.
